One of the contests testing the skill of loggers is shown at a past year’s Great Lakes Logging and Heavy Equipment Expo in Oshkosh, Wis. The event is returning to Oshkosh Sept. 6-8.
Aircraft Association’s AirVenture Grounds in Oshkosh; in 2016, the event moved to the Sunnyview Expo Center. Schienebeck said this facility has been a good fit for the event so far.
“It ... worked real well for us,” he said, noting that this location is conve- niently located and is easy to access.
At the 73rd Annual Great Lakes Logging and Heavy Equipment Expo, Schienebeck said attendees can expect to see several different demonstra- tions.
“There’s (going to) be a lot of live demos this year,” he said. These will include demonstrations of chainsaws, processors, portable sawmills, antique saws, and more. Additionally, competitions will be held during the expo.
As always, several vendors will be present at the Great Lakes Logging and Heavy Equipment Expo in 2018.
“I think we’re (going to) be around 325 — it’s actually up this year quite a bit,” Schienebeck said.
Schienebeck said this year’s expo will also reflect a historical milestone.
“This year’s the 100th anniversary of World War I,” he said. Because of this, veterans attending the expo will be able to get into the event for free.
The expo’s opening ceremony will pay tribute to this anniversary.
“It’ll be ... a special opening ceremony,” Schienebeck said.
